Sui is a public application/financial network. SUI is its native gas, security and storage asset. Mysten/Foundation success, app-token economics and institutional Sui adoption do not create identical SUI demand.

Structural Token Opportunity is a durable structural assessment. It is not a price forecast, expected-return estimate, buy/sell recommendation, or current valuation score. STO measures structural token opportunity, not whether a token is attractive at today’s price. It does not score current valuation, near-term catalysts, entry conditions, market regime, flows or portfolio context.
Research assessment based on audited deep research, reconciled with the canonical Ledger. This curated projection is not the internal forensic monograph. Public publication remains subject to human review.
On this assessment
Current thesis
Can Sui settlement grow without proportional SUI demand?
Sui is a real mid-sized public economy with shared liquidity, live stablecoin settlement and modest funded institutional capital. Its option set extends into regulated securities, native-Bitcoin credit and confidential/controlled workflows, but major branches remain under conversion: HINC is funded, tZERO infrastructure is integrated, Paga is committed, and Hashi/privacy/Spheres are not scaled production.
SUI has real gas, stake and storage roles plus unusually strong regulated/treasury access and market-proxy transmission. Supported gasless transfers and app-layer tokens weaken required user-held balances. Staking can use existing/noncirculating inventory and rewards remain subsidy-supported.
Stablecoin reserve-yield acquisition operates without burn. The later Ledger dashboard through 1 October recorded about 799.7K SUI bought YTD, materially above the frozen report’s 23.8K snapshot. Acquired tokens are redistributed/reinvested; gross revenue is not all available acquisition funding and net supply absorption remains unproven. This later evidence has not changed the frozen scores.
Primary bypass / failure mechanism
Daya explicitly allows settlement without buying or holding SUI. Gas sponsorship, stablecoin principal and DEEP/app-token economics can deliver valuable Sui usage while required external SUI acquisition stays weak. Foundation inventory can satisfy strategic demand without equivalent open-market buying.
Multiple 2026 Mainnet stalls qualify institutional resilience even though consensus safety was preserved and the latest report-window period was clean. Broad validator operators do not establish beneficial stake distribution or independent production clients. The Cetus recovery was exceptional validator consensus, not demonstrated unilateral Foundation seizure.
Why it scores here
A real mid-sized network with broad institutional/payment optionality and unusually strong market transmission via regulated products and treasury ownership. Near-horizon supply is much cleaner than older headline unlock narratives suggested.

Canonical participating scope: Daya
Daya independently supports Sui as a live stablecoin settlement rail and explicitly abstracts the network token from users.
Sui Foundation announced that Hashi will begin phased mainnet rollout later in October 2026 with more than $500M of announced capital commitments and more than 20 ecosystem partners. Hashi's design secures native BTC on Bitcoin and represents eligible deposited collateral through hBTC on Sui for prospective lending, borrowing, credit and vault applications. Anchorage Digital independently confirmed its launch-partner role, with planned qualified-custody tri-party access through Atlas, self-custody through Porto and stablecoin-liquidity support.
Dated research scope / source limitation · September–8 October 2026 $500 million committed does not mean $500 million funded, deposited, lent or already earning fees. Scheduled launch is not completed live production. testnet previously live; Sui Foundation on 8 October announced a phased Hashi mainnet rollout later in October 2026 backed by more than $500M in capital commitments; mainnet launch and funded collateral are not yet verified Canonical Stage, Tier and Lifecycle are research classifications retained from the accepted Ledger; this notice is not new source verification.
System implication
advances a previously tested BTC-backed credit architecture to a dated, institutionally supported launch commitment; production impact remains conditional on funded deployment and repeated use.
Public-token implication
no present quantified SUI capture. Potential backend gas/storage demand remains fee-light and cannot be inferred from committed BTC collateral value.
What is not proven
completed mainnet go-live as of 12 October; that $500M is already deposited, borrowed or deployed; live hBTC balances, first institutional loans, collateral velocity, lender revenue, enduring adoption, or material incremental SUI gas/storage demand or externally sourced SUI buying.

System activity, retained economics, outside acquisition and final token destination are separate proving steps.
01Proven
Funded finance and live settlement
HINC had about $10.7M tracked Sui exposure; Daya is a live settlement rail. Commitments and technical integrations do not establish all company-wide volumes on Sui.
The Foundation converts reserve-yield economics into open-market purchases. The canonical Ledger extends the dashboard through 1 October, separately from the report cutoff.
Purchased SUI is redistributed/reinvested, not burned. Current storage-fund balance and net acquisition against subsidies/distributions are not fully reconstructed.
Hashi has a phased October 2026 mainnet rollout commitment, with more than $500M in announced capital commitments; completed go-live and funded credit are not verified. Audited Mainnet credit and meaningful attributable balances are required before assigning an operating capture path.
Investment access and proxy expectations are separate from current operating capture.
01Supported
Liquid network exposure
Regulated spot/staking products, public treasury access and spot/derivatives liquidity make SUI a strong proxy for future network importance. Individual-catalyst causality remains unproven.
Public Mainnet, DeepBook, gasless settlement, USDsui and funded HINC capital operate.
Gas, staking and storage mechanisms use SUI; reserve-yield market acquisition executes and recycles tokens.
Regulated fund and treasury ownership create real access/inventory channels with mixed sourcing.
The official near-2027 circulation schedule is moderate relative to the headline 10B maximum.
What Is Not Proven
The reported >$1T transfers represent adjusted consumer/B2B payments or proportional revenue.
tZERO’s ICE relationship proves ICE selected Sui; company-wide Paga/RedotPay volume is Sui production.
Hashi Mainnet BTC credit, audited production Confidential Transfers or named production financial Spheres exist at the report cutoff.
Stablecoin purchases burn SUI, staking is permanent removal or every investment balance was bought for cash on exchanges.
Token economics / structural supply
The official September 2026→December 2027 schedule rises from about 4.0965B to 4.3723B circulating SUI: roughly 275.75M / 6.73%. Scheduled availability is not realized selling. The large remaining supply is predominantly a delayed/unallocated post-2030 issue, not an imminent end-2027 unlock wall.
Approximately 5.22B delayed/post-2030 allocation remains a major long-duration governance/terminal-dilution uncertainty. The exact final private-investor vesting date was not primary-source established. Staking subsidies distribute existing allocated inventory into circulation; noncirculating tokens can stake.
Storage creates refundable sequestration and an economically permanent component, not ordinary fee burn. The current 2026 storage balance is unresolved; an older small snapshot is not presented as current. Foundation reserve-yield purchases are buy-and-redistribute and must be reconciled against subsidies and seller-capable flows.
Regulated vehicles held about 77.8M SUI at 30 June with different cash/in-kind mechanics. SUI Group’s original Foundation agreement covered 44M SUI; the 30 June 2026 disclosure identifies 32,613,028 restricted acquired tokens through 30 August 2027, a seller-option date rather than predicted selling. Fund, treasury and staking inventories must not be added as independent demand.
Upgrade / proving triggers
Institutional/payment pathways convert into large persistent balances and measurable SUI demand without relying on Foundation inventory.
Paga, tZERO and bank pathways reveal material Sui-specific funded balances and recurring flows.
Hashi Mainnet produces attributable BTC collateral/loans; audited privacy and named Spheres become production.
Persistent stablecoin float and utility-linked external acquisition become material against circulating releases without depending on Foundation inventory.
A long clean liveness interval and independent production clients strengthen institutional confidence.
Downgrade triggers
Forward institutional options fail to convert and the network remains modest while token demand stays primarily reflexive.
Institutional options remain developmental or multichain distribution produces little Sui share.
More outages or common software failures undermine dependable production.
Investment demand reverses while recycled acquisition and app-token leakage remain weak supply absorption.
Foundation/post-2030 allocation or strategic distributions worsen the previously moderate near-horizon burden.

Pending Scorecard reconciliation — 2 October observation with dashboard data through 1 October is newer than the 25 September report and 30 September registry. Gross network revenue is not all acquisition funding and net supply absorption is unproven. No score action is inferred.
stablecoin-yield-funded open-market SUI acquisition
Live production · Corrected
Sui Foundation states that stablecoin yield is converted into daily onchain open-market SUI purchases. The live dashboard showed approximately 799.7K SUI bought back YTD through 1 October 2026, approximately $2.9M of YTD network revenue including estimated current-month rewards, and a 1 October purchase of about $7.3K / 6.3K SUI.
System effect
strengthens evidence that stablecoin float produces a recurring monetization loop rather than only fee-light transaction activity.
Token effect
direct external SUI acquisition is clearly operating and materially larger than the frozen September telemetry, but remains small/early relative to SUI market scale and is a recycling mechanism rather than permanent removal.
What is not proven
material net supply absorption at network scale; permanent scarcity; or that all reported gross network revenue is available for buybacks. Purchased SUI is not burned and is redistributed/reinvested into DeFi, validators and other ecosystem participants.

October 10 research-authority source binding. The 3 August 2026 company-reported total includes loan receivables. The original 44,000,000 SUI purchase block and 30 June 2026 restricted accounting quantity of 32,613,028 SUI have distinct dates and scopes; neither is additive inventory. Both disclosures were published 6 August 2026. A future transfer restriction expiry is not a sale. OCT10-R09: Treasury Update. Direct SEC exhibit retrieved: company-reported total includes specified loan receivables; not a custody-only metric. OCT10-R10: Notes 1, 3, 4, 5, printed pp.8–12: Foundation purchase agreement, restriction/accounting quantity, digital-asset rollforward, loans and other receivables. Direct retrieval succeeded. Different as-of date from R09; not evidence of a later unlock or sale.

SUI-MARKET-PROXY-01liquid proxy for Sui network expectations
regulated products, corporate treasury access, deep spot/derivatives liquidity and high-beta behavior make SUI a strong market proxy for future Sui network importance.
System effect
none directly.
Token effect
meaningful reflexive demand can precede mechanical capture.
What is not proven
causal attribution to individual institutional announcements or stable repeatable magnitude.

SUI-SAMSUNG-WALLET-USDC-01embedded Samsung Wallet USDC payment / cross-border remittance support on Sui
embedded Samsung Wallet USDC payment / cross-border remittance support on Sui
Scheduled / committed deployment · Monitoring
Samsung named Sui, alongside Solana, an infrastructure partner for its upcoming USDC wallet and cross-border payment service. Sui Foundation confirmed Sui USDC integration scheduled for eligible Galaxy Wallet users. Samsung cited compatibility with about 82M U.S. Galaxy devices and bank-account payouts in more than 60 countries; Bastion/Coinbase Prime provide money movement/custody infrastructure. Sui's gasless transfer architecture removes the user's need to hold SUI; the Sui Foundation explicitly states SUI is not supported in the initial wallet offering.
System effect
significant mainstream wallet distribution pathway into USDC on Sui, not 82M transacting users or 82M independent chain wallets.
Token effect
no mandatory end-user SUI acquisition for the supported gasless transfers and no material new SUI capture evidence; any sponsored/infrastructure economics must be measured separately.
What is not proven
a live Samsung USDC-on-Sui transfer before rollout, user activation/chain-routing share, funded balances, economic payment volume, marginal SUI purchases, per-transfer SUI scarcity, or exclusivity against Solana.

institutional API custody support for SUI and Sui fungible coins including native USDC
Infrastructure / enabler · Active
Ripple Custody release 1.43 supports receiving, holding, quarantining, releasing and sending native SUI and supported Sui fungible coins through the API, with configurable validity windows for cold-vault signing.
System effect
institutional custody operational readiness and multichain access for Sui; Ripple-company platform support is not Ripple choosing Sui as default settlement.
Token effect
potential SUI custody/access channel but no funded inventory, staking or protocol fee demand directly established.
What is not proven
that a named Ripple customer holds or transfers SUI, custody balance/transactions, broad Sui UI support, or incremental SUI external buying.

What Changed / history
25 September 2026 — frozen forensic snapshot. Its 23.8K-SUI YTD acquisition retrieval is historical; the inherited five-day transfer claim was not recovered strongly enough to use as current economic telemetry.
SUI-FIVE-DAY-TELEMETRY-01: Research context at inherited pre-freeze telemetry. Adequate solely as an explicitly inherited unverified claim. Frozen audit §0.2 says strong primary reconstruction was not recovered. Not admissible as verified transfer/adoption evidence. This is not independently verified live production, token capture, legal authorization or a current quantitative measurement. It adds no new score credit.
30 September — frozen synchronized Score Registry. Sui report §26 older Network/Forward Token scores and diagnostic grades are not current website numbers.
2 October Ledger observation, data through 1 October — SUI-STABLECOIN-BUYBACK-01 shows about 799.7K SUI acquired YTD and roughly $2.9M YTD gross network revenue including estimated current-month rewards. The later scale is real Ledger evidence, not a silently revised forensic snapshot or documented numerical update.
