Economic Capture vs Market Transmission
Distinguish operating token economics from outside investment and proxy demand, with real contrasting asset cases.
Operating economics and outside ownership
Economic Capture follows activity into required balances, security/collateral roles, burn or economically funded acquisition. Market Transmission follows system success into outside investment and proxy demand for the token. One does not substitute for proof of the other.
A token can be a liquid proxy for a valuable system without a contractual revenue entitlement. Conversely, an operating capture mechanism is not a guarantee of current investment attractiveness or future price performance.
Architecture is not realization
Regulated products, liquidity and buyer access support Market Architecture. Actual outside holdings/inflows and repeated system-specific repricing support Market Realization. Product availability alone does not establish the latter.
For Economic Capture, mechanism capability is distinct from current execution. Fee-switch optionality is not activation; an authorized buyback is not proof of purchases; retained tokens are not automatically permanently removed.
Two routes are not automatically independent
The frozen methodology allows a stronger route to receive bounded support from the weaker route when they are causally distinct. Counting the same demand engine twice creates false strength. The website displays the canonical result and never recomputes it.
Real asset cases
Historical context · Evidence date: historical/current
MORPHO can serve as the liquid public proxy for Morpho network growth and governance monetization expectations.
Not proven: stable proportional transmission or durable valuation absent mechanical capture.

Accepted token thesis and primary bypass
Token thesis
Morpho is a large operating credit network increasingly embedded beneath third-party financial brands. Ordinary lending, borrowing and vault use do not require MORPHO, and current direct holder revenue is effectively zero. Strategic token acquisition and network/governance proxy demand are separate channels from mandatory user economics.
Primary bypass
Morpho becomes a major embedded credit backend while lenders, distributors, curators, stablecoin issuers and interfaces capture most of the economics; ordinary users never need MORPHO; fee machinery remains inactive or is reinvested; and allocated token inventory continues entering circulation.

qualifying non-LINK assets can be converted through Payment Abstraction into LINK before allocation.
Not proven: proportion of total Chainlink revenue that passes through this path.
LINK-RESERVE-01Accepted token thesis and primary bypass
Token thesis
Payment Abstraction can convert qualifying non-LINK assets into LINK. The Strategic Reserve retains LINK, and Chainlink states that business revenue funds recurring open-market purchases; SEC-filed product disclosures repeat that model without independently auditing underlying offchain invoices. The transmission coefficient—how much commercial success becomes fresh, durable LINK demand—is not publicly established.
Primary bypass
Chainlink services and Chainlink Labs can succeed while a small/private share of economics reaches retained LINK, service providers sell compensation and circulating inventory expands. Institution-built workflows, competing data providers and issuer-native transfer can capture specific functions without eliminating the whole middleware opportunity.

qualifying protocol fees route predominantly into the Assistance Fund for HYPE acquisition; frozen 30-day perp reconstruction shows approximately 78.35% of gross perp fees reaching AF.
Not proven: that 99% of every gross fee dollar buys HYPE or that present capture intensity is permanent.
HYPE-FEES-BURN-01Accepted token thesis and primary bypass
Token thesis
Hyperliquid has a large, real fee-paying trading engine. Qualifying protocol fees automatically acquire HYPE, and Assistance Fund balances are currently treated as economic burn. That is unusually direct token capture, not a legal pro-rata revenue claim.
Primary bypass
Hyperliquid grows through lower-fee HIP-3/backend activity while capture per dollar falls. Higher HYPE prices remove fewer tokens per captured dollar; staking rewards and contributor/Foundation principal become marketable; discretionary treasury demand weakens. Excellent exchange performance can coexist with deteriorating token economics.
