Understand the system. Test the token.

Explore the evidence behind our rankings. We investigate connections between crypto networks and protocols and banks, financial institutions, payment companies, asset managers and major businesses.

Across 17 asset assessments, we distinguish announcements and pilots from live deployments, track major upcoming projects, and examine whether that activity creates meaningful demand for the public token.

Each assessment examines token economics, supply pressure, risks and what remains unproven. Sources and Evidence IDs help readers verify the findings.

Research dates: Evidence reviewed through 16 October 2026. Scores and rankings use the frozen 30 September 2026 Scorecard. Each assessment identifies its original research cutoff. New evidence does not automatically change scores.

"Audited Deep Research" and "Audited Integrated Research" describe internal research and review, not independent financial audits. Public assessments summarize the underlying research; private reports and workpapers are not offered for download.

Why We Selected These 17 Assets

System to Token began with an investment question: As traditional finance increasingly adopts blockchain technology, which networks and protocols are best positioned to become important parts of the financial system, and which public tokens could benefit from that growth?

We examined a wide range of crypto projects, looking for those with the strongest institutional connections, meaningful financial activity and potential to become essential financial infrastructure.

Our primary focus was on relationships with established financial institutions, including banks, asset managers, payment companies, exchanges and clearinghouses. We also examined tokenized real-world assets, stablecoins, payments, settlement, lending, trading, collateral and other financial applications.

From this research, we selected 17 assets that stood out as some of the most promising candidates we identified. Our coverage expanded as we discovered additional projects with compelling financial connections, operating activity or long-term potential.

Selection was only the beginning. We then conducted deeper research into each network or protocol, examining the strength of its institutional relationships, actual adoption, competitive position, risks and token economics.

That research also sharpened an important distinction: A network can become valuable financial infrastructure without its public token capturing an equivalent share of that value.

We believe these 17 assets are particularly worth following as traditional finance and blockchain-based finance become more closely connected. Our assessments examine where that conviction is supported by evidence, where uncertainty remains, and which developments could strengthen or weaken the investment case.

The goal is not simply to identify important financial networks. It is to understand which public tokens may benefit most from the growth of those networks.

XRP Ledger / XRP

System type / scope: XRPL is the network

Research profile: Forward-led

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Ripple has assembled an unusually complete institutional-finance capability stack, and XRPL is being developed as a settlement, tokenization, liquidity and collateral rail. XRP’s strongest established transmission is market-proxy demand and independent inventory channels; proportional utility-driven acquisition remains poorly quantified. Ripple and XRPL can grow while XRP remains optional for much of the principal economic flow.

Morpho / MORPHO

System type / scope: credit network

Research profile: Current-led / Balanced

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Morpho is a large operating credit network increasingly embedded beneath third-party financial brands. Ordinary lending, borrowing and vault use do not require MORPHO, and current direct holder revenue is effectively zero. Strategic token acquisition and network/governance proxy demand are separate channels from mandatory user economics.

Hyperliquid / HYPE

System type / scope: Hyperliquid is the protocol; HyperCore is its main trading engine

Research profile: Current-led

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Hyperliquid has a large, real fee-paying trading engine. Qualifying protocol fees automatically acquire HYPE, and Assistance Fund balances are currently treated as economic burn. That is unusually direct token capture, not a legal pro-rata revenue claim.

Ethereum / ETH

System type / scope: capital and settlement layer

Research profile: Current-led

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Ethereum is deeply embedded financial infrastructure with exceptional capital, settlement, security, liquidity and institutional production. ETH has substantial live demand, but its strongest current channels are security, collateral and persistent balance-sheet ownership—not proportional consumption by transactions.

Canton Network / CC

System type / scope: institutional infrastructure

Research profile: Forward-led

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Canton has credible production securities, collateral, Treasury and repo workflows. Its privacy-preserving institutional architecture can become important financial infrastructure; represented asset notional is not distributed, reusable capital.

Quant / QNT

System type / scope: private enterprise infrastructure company

Research profile: Forward-led

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Quant has progressed beyond partnerships into completed regulated-bank customer transactions and a major U.S. infrastructure selection. GBTD’s small live uses validate delivery; The Clearing House’s selected-vendor path remains forward deployment, not its legacy network’s transaction volume.

Solana / SOL

System type / scope: mature public financial/application network

Research profile: Current-led

Research depth: Audited Integrated Research

Solana already has large public trading, stablecoin, DeFi and distributed-asset activity, alongside real institutional settlement and payout pathways. Public liquidity and composability are strengths; speculative revenue concentration, multichain competition and infrastructure concentration qualify durability.

Aave / AAVE

System type / scope: operating credit protocol

Research profile: Current-led

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Aave is a large, durable live credit franchise with deep liquidity, risk infrastructure, GHO revenue and real RWA-backed borrowing. V4 extends shared liquidity into specialized credit, qualifying the claim that modular competitors have already commoditized Aave. Early growth can include incentives and migration.

Uniswap / UNI

System type / scope: multichain liquidity infrastructure

Research profile: Current-led

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Uniswap is globally important spot-liquidity and execution infrastructure with broad integrations and a programmable v4 settlement layer. Aggregation can route users into its pools even when they use another interface; hooks can strengthen the substrate while letting others own customer relationships and economics.

Avalanche / AVAX

System type / scope: public Primary Network and sovereign L1s

Research profile: Balanced

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Avalanche has real public C-Chain finance and meaningful institutional sovereign-L1 production, including Progmat’s regulated securities migration and dedicated coordination/governance workloads. A C-Chain-only view understates the platform; institution-wide notional and historical pilots must not be credited as present Avalanche throughput.

Sky / SKY

System type / scope: onchain stablecoin, savings and capital-allocation system

Research profile: Current-led

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Sky operates an approximately $11B-scale financial book with genuine retained economics after savings and ordinary operating costs. Prime settlement returns substantial economics to Sky Core, even though separate Agent entities and tokens retain residual value. Balance-sheet claims, collateral market value, gross yield, Net Revenue and post-distribution surplus are different objects. The financial reporting is unaudited management/onchain analytics, not GAAP/IFRS accounts.

Sui / SUI

System type / scope: public application/financial network

Research profile: Forward-led / Developing

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Sui is a real mid-sized public economy with shared liquidity, live stablecoin settlement and modest funded institutional capital. Its option set extends into regulated securities, native-Bitcoin credit and confidential/controlled workflows, but major branches remain under conversion: HINC is funded, tZERO infrastructure is integrated, Paga is committed, and Hashi/privacy/Spheres are not scaled production.

Chainlink / LINK

System type / scope: financial data, workflow and cross-domain middleware

Research profile: Balanced

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Chainlink has real recurring production dependencies across financial data, CRE workflows and CCIP interoperability. Aave documents recurring CRE automation across 11 networks and a funded customer organization account; 21X confirms regulated-market production. DTCC adds a high-quality committed collateral architecture. This supports an emerging candidate for standards-grade middleware, not an already universal financial standard.

Aptos / APT

System type / scope: public execution and financial-asset network

Research profile: Developing

Research depth: Audited Deep Research

Aptos has credible specialized workloads despite thin broad DeFi: roughly $1.0B–$1.2B stablecoins, distributed regulated funds and about $568M represented PACT credit. Decibel demonstrates real high-frequency production. Concentrated fund/credit stocks and negligible RWA DeFi reuse do not establish a broad self-reinforcing capital market.
